Florida began with an OT win, lost a close game, then won by a single goal. The Panthers have been a beast at home, now But it could have been worse — possibly starting with the Bruins. Things get spicier if the Panthers advance. Again, this may come down to health in net. If the Panthers made it to the third round, then the Metro bracket could spit out all sorts of scary opponents.
The Panthers are just outside the top 10 in Expected Goals Against per 60 minutes with 2. This level of dominance on both ends of the ice is hard to come by, but Florida has been making it look easy this year. Another huge reason for their success is because they have a stud in net, and his name is Sergei Bobrovsky. Colorado Avalanche The Avalanche have been playing unbelievable hockey recently, and as a result, they are one of the hottest teams in the NHL coming into this game.

They got off to a bit of a slow start on the offensive end this season, but now there is no doubt that they are a major force on that end of the ice. In 5-on-5 situations, the Avalanche have surrendered 54 total goals, 12th-most in the NHL. Darcy Keumper is expected to get the start in net in this one, and even though he is winning games, his numbers have not been great.
Panthers vs. Avalanche Pick This is likely going to be a game that is highlighted by a high number of goals, further continuing the trend for both teams over the last week. Florida has seen a total of at least seven goals in six of their last nine games, and Colorado has seen a total of at least seven in seven of their last nine.

MacKinnon had a goal and an assist to give him at least a point in all 12 games this season. He matched Joe Sakic for the fourth-longest point streak to start a season in franchise history.
